OK, so here goes my first ever BLOG ...

And ... what exactly is a blog? Well, according to the always fun Urban Dictionary:

blog

n. Short for weblog. A meandering, blatantly uninteresting online diary that gives the author the illusion that people are interested in their stupid, pathetic life. Consists of such riveting entries as "homework sucks" and "I slept until noon today." v. intr. The act of posting to a weblog.

Yikes, do I really want to do this? On the other hand, I have had a few of my friends comment that they miss my monthly, which then turned into quarterly, which upon the birth of my son became for the most part annual newsletters and e-newsletters.

And since I am revamping my very outdated website, why not. So much for my meandering ...

TIME SURE FLIES ...

So here I am - ten years (10!) after the birth of this sweet boy of mine - I finally feel like hoooorayyyy, my creative juices are back (and my brain is only 60% overseeing the daily excitement of learning what being a mom is all about).

I also have to credit some amazing family and friends of mine, who have persisted and entrusted me with designing a jewelry piece here and there for them. I love, love, love and continue to love the process of first sitting down and talking about ideas, then sketching it out and adjusting it to their liking, creating some 3D views of the piece (which helps with figuring out the amount of gold or platinum needed - helpful especially when prices on the precious metals market are so unpredictable) and then getting the piece created AND (my biggest pleasure every time) finally ... seeing them react to the finished piece. My reward - the smiles on their faces as the ring goes on the finger or the necklace around the neck respectively. No better feeling!

It all starts with some doodeling ...
